John Ozbay - Pygmalion

Pygmalion

Pygmalion, a modern classical / classical crossover concept album, composed for solo piano, strings and synths. Featuring 5 songs with piano, nordic strings and synthesizers.

The album is about Pygmalion, a sculptor, who in Greek mythology, fell in love with a statue he had carved. Inspired by the idea that with more people looking to find companionship / friendship & love online from strangers, often knowing very little about them, imagining & creating their personalities, the story of Pygmalion is now more relevant than ever.

To match the concept of the album, I made an algorithm to create/generate the artwork. The algorithm generates its best estimate of a human face using only 50 rectangles, triangles or lines. So there are infinite variations of the artwork.
