John Ozbay - 52 Hertz

52 Hertz

52 Hertz, A single release 8 minute tribute to the Lonely Whale, a statement to accept and cherish differences, and that it is okay to be different and perfect to be unique.

In our times, when being different could have a heavy cost, when acceptance and tolerance is all the world needs, when being unique pushes us to be lonely just like the Lonely Whale, it is important to remember, it is ok to be different and unique. The album features a rustic and old Steinway Grand piano playing episodic and mantric repetitive chords, nordic strings playing wave-like repetitive patterns, and clarinet symbolizing the whale making its call in an ocean of repetitive sounds.

Available for digital downloads and streaming in 100+ stores worldwide.

what is the lonely whale?

The 52 Hertz whale is an individual whale of unidentified species, which calls at the very unusual frequency of 52 Hertz. This pitch is a much higher frequency than that of the other whale species with migration patterns most closely resembling the blue whale (10–39 Hertz) or fin whale (20 Hz). It has been detected regularly in many locations since the late 1980s and appears to be the only individual emitting a whale call at this frequency. It has been described as the “world’s loneliest whale”.
